Plastics 2.0


This exploration process draws on the adage ‘decay over disposal’ and is intended to contribute to the development of eco-safe materials.

These bio-plastics are made from varying recipe ratios of: vinegar, varying starches, glycerin, water, and additional bio-additives.

First experiments included varying the original recipe with the addition of bio-additives for visual effect. While these additions were for color purposes, minimal structure effects were noted.





Base recipe: equal parts glycerin, water, starch, and vinegar Half glycerin + chia seeds Addition of cinnamon for color. Consistency issues made the material less malleable 1.5x portion of glycerin made for a thicker material
